I had an absolute blast meeting Renee and her two beautiful kids, and bun in the oven! I was warmly greeted with smiles and down right amazing lighting. Her walls consisted of wonderfully large windows- which is my favorite for having to shoot inside. I must confess- there are a lot of photos of Renee and her children so it wasn't solely a mamma's maternity shoot, but those kids just exemplify who she is! Willing to do whatever I asked, Renee was an awesome model. I can't wait to work with her and her family in the future! Renee- thank you so much for welcoming me into your home.

Bare Belly Maternity: Susan with Ella
There's many sides to a maternity shoot and my favorite part is the bare belly. It's the moment when the proud mother displays what she's been carrying around for months. I think the personality of the mother comes out even more when we do this part of the shoot and I absolutely love it. These are the bare belly photos from a session with my aunt back in December, just hours before she went into labor. Here is the original story and more photos on facebook.
I'm looking to work with more expecting mothers so if you, or know someone who is- I would love to capture your 9 month journey. Have a wonderful Sunday!

Ella Isabelle and Her Story
About 5 months ago I found out my aunt was pregnant. It came as a surprise because she was four or five months along and didn't know it. My excitement grew at the prospect of gaining a fourth cousin and yet another little girl. I bugged Susan every month to take maternity photos and it wasn't until two Saturday's ago she agreed.
So I got up early and drove to Canby at 9am and by 11 we were done. The shoot went awesome although we ended up completely rearranging her living room. I got home and uploaded the photos and was thrilled to see some amazing shots.
Less than 12 hours later she went into labor. We got the text and figured we would stop by, say hi, and return in the morning to see Ella Isabelle. That plan quickly went out the window because Ella was well on her way to entering the world and decided to come fast. Four hours later, at 2:04 am Ella Isabelle was born, and though a little blue, she was beautiful.
We returned the next morning where I got a few shots of her in the hospital and then a week later did an infant shoot. She never quite got to sleep but the photos turned out beautiful regardless. I've discovered- I have a thing for baby feet.
Welcome to the world little miss Ella! We're all so happy you're here- I can't wait to take photos of you as you grow up.
Loves,
Cousin Katie
