The Glass Boutique and the Holiday Market

My aunt Jenny started fusing glass 4 or 5 years ago. I've watched glass blowing tv shows since I was little so I was stoked to find out she was taking it up as a hobby. Her hobby turned into an art and that led to her own little business, The Glass Boutique. She works the whole jewelry side while I work with bigger pieces. Jen has a booth at the Eugene's Holiday Market this week so mum and I drove down to help her out. If you're in the area come check it out! Great last minute Christmas gifts! Usually when I come down I try to pound out some new glass work but I forgot my glass in Vancouver.

Here are some quick shots from the drive down and her workspace.

Christmas Happenings

Christmas break started yesterday, although I still have homework due to my hospital stint last month. This year Matt is staying with us instead of going to Montana. It's both a blessing and unfortunate, I love having him here but I wish he could be with his family. It's a full house now that Matt and I are here. The total is 6 people, 4 cats, 1 dog, and a lot of stuff. Tension is running a little high as you can imagine. Christmas music and a fully decorated Christmas tree make it a little easier.

Tomorrow I'm having a Christmas/Birthday bash, mostly so people have reason to all be in one place and catch up rather than trying to schedule coffee dates with everyone. That being said I'm cooking for almost 20 and cleaning to have a presentable house. I'm tired. Tonight I made my usual schezuan chicken noodle dish, that's for you Leah Marie, and my all time favorite seasoned pretzels, thanks to Carolyn Noack introducing me to them years ago. Tomorrow will be full of more cleaning and clam chowder before everyone arrives around 6. Here are some fun shots of the process...
